As most of you may know, on March 7th, 2018 at 20 weeks and 4 days pregnant I went into preterm labor. There was nothing we could do to stop labor and I had to deliver our two beautiful baby girls. Tragically, they were just too little to save and we lost them. We named them Emily & Ellie and they were identical twins. Emily passed 20 mins after she was born and Ellie was stillborn. We spent 14 hours with them before it was time to say goodbye and we are so grateful to have had that time. We snuggled them, talked to them, prayed to them, gazed at their sweet faces forever and gave them SO many kisses. It was the best and worst 14 hours of our lives.

We want to make sure we do our part in raising awareness about pregnancy loss so people understand this can and does happen to many parents and babies every year. These families need support.

The Star Legacy Foundation is committed to saving precious lives.  Their mission is to raise awareness, support research and education, advocate for change and support and provide support to families who are dealing with these devastating losses.  They believe that many of these tragedies can be prevented and hope to ultimately lower the number of stillbirths across the country.

Story Behind Our Logo: When Neil and I found out we were having girls, we were SO excited! One of the first things we did was add all the crazy cute girl stuff to our registry, including these adorable security blankets with animals attached to them. We picked out a Unicorn one for Emily and a Narwhal one for Ellie. These blankets ended up being some the first gifts we received for the girls. We were in love with them and couldn’t wait to give them to the girls! After we lost the girls, we put together a memory chest for them which includes their Unicorn and Narwhal security blankets, we just couldn’t get rid of them. Now anytime we see a unicorn or narwhal, we are reminded of our sweet girls. When I found the image of the unicorn and narwhal with the words ‘Best Friends’ written below, we knew it was perfect for the girls and our team page!
