The Pinky Swear Story

In December of 2002, nine-year-old Mitch Chepokas, terminally ill with bone cancer, withdrew the entire $6,000 from his savings account and put it in envelopes for kids on the pediatric oncology floor at the hospital.

After giving all of his money away, Mitch’s dad made a pinky swear promise with him to always help children with cancer and their families after he was gone.

Mitch passed away on April 11, 2003, and shortly afterwards, Pinky Swear Foundation was established by his parents to honor the promise he made.

Volunteer to help kids with cancer

Pinky Swear Foundation relies on the time and talents of volunteers to help us provide a great experience for our participants and ensure a successful event. Become one of the 1,000+ volunteers who have come together to help Pinky Swear Foundation support kids with cancer and their families. Register to volunteer today!

Join us for the Pinky Swear Family 5K & Fun Run! A family fitness festival to benefit kids with cancer and their families!

The Pinky Swear 5K & Fun Run includes a 5K run/walk, a 1 mile run/walk and a fitness expo for the whole family at Lake Ann in Chanhassen! Kids, parents, individuals or teams – people of all ages and fitness levels are invited to participate and further the mission to help kids with cancer and their families.
