Two beautiful women with two similar stories:
Barb, a vibrant and active person was having hip pain, a bloated feeling and some constipation. Realizing this wasn’t normal for her body she made a doctor appointment. After seeing her doctor, she was given the news no one wants to hear. In February of 2019 at the age of 61, Barb was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Michelle, a fun loving and free-spirited person was experiencing the same symptoms as Barb. After her visit to her doctor, she was given the same devastating news. In June of 2019 at the age of 47, Michelle was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Both women had surgeries to remove their tumors. Then the rest of their battles began. They were both incredible fighters. Their attitudes and determination were amazing. Such inspirations to their families and friends and everyone who knew them.
Sadly, we lost Barb in December of 2020 and Michelle in May of 2023. They remain in our hearts forever.
As we approach Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month (September), please help us raise funds and awareness by joining us at Jack Pine Brewery in Baxter, MN for “Pints For A Purpose” on August 30th. The event is from 4-8 PM and Jack Pine will donate $1 to the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MOCA) for every pint and token purchased. There will be free pizza from Papa Murphy’s and live music by Dos Guys from 6-8 PM. If you can’t join us, we would love your donation and have provided a link and QR code for your convenience.
