Mom passed away on November 30th, 2023 from a brave and courageous year and a half long fight with ovarian cancer. There is currently no reliable way to screen for ovarian cancer in women who don’t have any symptoms. Only about 20% of ovarian cancers are found at an early stage. Because of this it is critical that funding continues to go towards ovarian cancer research. In lieu of flowers mom asked that people who are able to please donate to Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance. Hopefully with more funding and testing, in time, early detection can be possible.
