When someone is stressed by their financial situation, it can have a strong impact on their health. This stress has an effect on their body, mood and behavior. According to the Mayo Clinic, physical manifestations of this stress include headaches, muscle tension, chest pain, fatigue and sleep problems. It can affect a person's mood by making them anxious, restless, feeling overwhelmed, sad or even depressed.
By gaining access to the tools to help manage personal finances, individuals and families will have the power to take control of their situation and alleviate this stress, which will in turn help promote a healthier lifestyle. This is exactly the work that mpowered brings to the community through its financial coaching model.
