Hello all! If you're new here let me introduce myself: My name is Abbie Hewitt! I am a Jesus loving, joy filled, Word fueled educator. I am beyond excited to serve on the Global Mercy as a 1st grade teacher at the Academy.
I grew up as a missionary kid in India and Thailand. Through my family's experience overseas I became increasingly aware of the need for the purposeful education and discipleship of missionary kids all around the world. For this reason I studied to become a teacher at Cedarville University committing to children's ministry and the local church. I have continued to grow in my love for teacher-student discipleship and can't wait to meet the students onboard the Global Mercy!
By supporting the educational needs of the families partnering with Mercy Ships I hope to provide freedom for medical proffesionals with children to do their part to bring hope and healing to the people of coastal Africa!
