Toasty Toaster

I adopted Toast in February 2025 from CCHS, and we have been the best of buds since. I would love to give back to where I met the goodest boy in the world.

A little bit about Mr. Toast

Mr. Toast is about 1 year and 8 months, and he is a pug/shar-pei mix. He is a very playful boy with lots and lots of energy. He's a big sniffer and loves the outdoors, as well as car rides with the windows down. In his free time, he enjoys chasing his tail, chewing sticks much too large for him, and zoomying. Fun fact: when he gets the zoomies his tail goes from curly to straight up! He also enjoyes being an office dog from time to time and has a couple tricks up his sleeve. Toast and I are inseperable and enjoy naps on the couch together. Toast is also quite the athlete and has surprised me with how far and high he can jump.

About the Organization

The Champaign County Humane Society is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to keeping companion animals healthy, housed, and looking for homes. Our shelter has been open to the Champaign County community since 1954, and we've helped thousands and thousands of animals find their forever home. Last year alone, about 1,700 pets found families through CCHS, thanks to donors like you.

As an independent nonprofit, our shelter, adoptions, and education programs rely on the generosity of this community, and the passion of supporters who fundraise on our behalf. We do not receive funding from local government entities, and we are not a branch of any national animal welfare nonprofits.
