February is Black History Month—a time to honor history and invest in the future.
Gymnastics has not always been equally accessible to athletes of all racial and ethnic backgrounds. Cost, access, and structural barriers have shaped who gets to participate and who gets to stay. And yet, underrepresented athletes have always been part of this sport, bringing talent, leadership, and joy to gymnastics spaces including the NAIGC.
That’s why NAIGC is proud to offer the Underrepresented Athlete Scholarship (UAS), which provides $2,000 toward tuition for a collegiate gymnast from a historically underrepresented racial or ethnic group.
This February, we’re raising funds to support the UAS and help expand access and opportunity in gymnastics, because the sport we love is stronger when more people get to belong.
For the love of the sport.
For all.
