Why am I doing this?
My infant son Will was diagnosed with cancer.
What followed was years of chemotherapy, surgeries, relapses, experimental treatments, and impossible decisions. Along the way, we learned something that changed our lives forever:
The system moves too slowly for children with cancer.
Parents are told to wait.
Researchers fight for funding.
Promising ideas sit on shelves while children run out of time.
We refused to accept that.
What started as “Friends of Will” eventually became Beat Childhood Cancer — not because we planned to build an organization, but because we realized families like ours would have to help force progress forward ourselves.
And something incredible happened.
People kept showing up.
You donated.
You shared our story.
You believed in children you would never meet.
Because of that, we watched the impossible start becoming real.
Research moved forward.
Clinical trials opened.
Children gained access to treatments that didn’t exist before.
One of the efforts YOU helped support ultimately saved Will's life and led to the FDA approval of a drug for children with high-risk neuroblastoma.
So the truth is this:
You made it impossible for me to stop asking.
You helped prove that ordinary people can change the landscape for kids with cancer.
That’s why next Thursday, June 4th, I’ll be playing 100 holes of golf in one day at the Golf Fights Cancer Marathon.
Because children with cancer don’t get to quit when they’re exhausted.
Parents don’t get to stop fighting when the system says “wait.”
And hope isn’t something you feel - it’s something you build.
Every dollar I raise goes directly to Beat Childhood Cancer and our mission to accelerate better treatment options for children facing cancer today.
We are not waiting for the system to fix itself.
If you’re able to donate, thank you.
If you’ve supported us before, thank you for helping change what’s possible for children with cancer.
