We’re the McGuire Brothers, Ryan (16) and Jake (14), and for the first time we’re officially teaming up for the Golf Marathon with a goal of $12,000.
This will be Ryan’s 12th marathon and Jake’s 2nd, which is pretty crazy to think about.
We’ve grown up around Golf Fights Cancer with our mom as Executive Director, so golf and giving back have always been part of our lives. Over the years, through a lot of experiences and memories, we’ve learned two things, cancer sucks, and we want to do everything we can to help people going through it.
Danny Nickerson is a big reason why we do this. Even though he passed 11 years ago, his impact is still felt every day. The marathon gives us a chance to honor him, and to turn something we love into something that actually helps kids and families facing pediatric brain cancer.
On June 4th, we’ll be out there with about 60 other golfers, ages 12 to 72, spread across 36 holes. We tee off at 7am and go until sunset, 100 holes in one day. It’s a grind, but it’s easily the most fun day of the year, hot dogs, lost balls, and a lot of laughs along the way.
Across the two day event, we’ll raise over $1.25 million to support people and families going through cancer. That kind of impact only happens because of people like you.
