Lyle Bauer, founder of Never Alone Cancer Foundation

passed away on April 27, 2024.

Lyle's life was one of remarkable achievement and success, known not only for his illustrious football career but also for his profound dedication to founding the Never Alone Cancer Foundation. Through his efforts, thousands of Manitoban cancer patients found solace and support. While his loss is deeply felt, Lyle's memory will endure through the countless lives he touched and his unwavering commitment to community service. Forever #59, you will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

With this in mind our 2024 walk is dedicated to him. The t-shirts will carry his jersey number #59 and we will announce other event day programing later this summer.

We participate in this event to support those who are facing a cancer diagnosis, to honour those who have passed and ensure there is support for those yet to be diagnosed.

These pictures show a few of our supporters who have made a difference in the lives of Manitobans facing a cancer diagnosis.

Rue and Chole's Crew, who walk in remembrance of Jerry Maslowsky who also helped Lyle with the development of the Never Alone Cancer Foundation. The amazing Team Laban and Linda's crew made the 2023 walk very memorable. We fondly remember George, whose family walked under the name of  Captain George's Angels.  Christine and Alexis's group Fur Baby Biscuits walks in memory of Ryan, a loving husband and father.

Paws for a Cause Cancer Walk created in memory of Jerry Maslowsky

The original Paws for a Cause event was created in memory of Jerry Maslowsky, who passed away on September 4, 2016 from esophageal cancer.

Jerry’s passion for helping others and giving back to the community lives on through this event.
