On September 12, 2015, our world changed forever. After feeling decreased movement, we found out that our baby girl no longer had a heartbeat. I had a normal prenatal checkup less than 3 days earlier. On September 13, 2015, our baby Grace was born still at 33 weeks. We did not find out that there was an umbilical cord issue until after an autopsy. Had this issue been discovered through a routine sonogram, I believe this death could have been prevented. The loss of our daughter and the immense pain it has caused, has changed our family forever. I walk to raise awareness for this deeply personal cause. I hope that my story can save a baby’s life. One baby born still is one too many.
