My Bank of America Chicago Marathon Journey

Hello! As some might have known or not, running has been a huge hobby for me, and I've committed to running the 2021 Chicago Marathon this coming October. I've partnered with the Northern Illinois Food Bank whose mission is to lead the Northern Illinois community in solving hunger by providing nutritious meals to those in need through innovative programs and partnerships.

 

I am raising $1750 dollars to earn my marathon bib, and all of the money raised will go to the Food Bank and help the communities of Northern Illinois. I have some stats below that show you how impactful even a $1 donation can be.

 

The Food Bank has been responding to the increased need in our communities due to COVID-19. Due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, more than 42 million people may experience food insecurity, including a potential 13 million children (feedingamerica.org). Since the beginning of the pandemic in March, the Northern Illinois Food Bank has helped provide over 76 million meals to the community.

 

Your Donation Makes an Impact:

  + Every $1 donated helps provide $8 worth of groceries for neighbors in need

  + 96% of the Food Bank's resources go to programs that feed neighbors in need

  + The Food Bank serves 13 counties in Northern Illinois, providing the equivalent of nearly 220,000 meals each day
