What kind of items can I donate?
We accept and distribute all contemporary clothing in excellent condition including children's, women's and men's clothing. Additionally, we accept shoes, all outerwear, linens, towels, tablecloths, handbags and Purim costumes.
What condition does the clothing need to be in?
Yad leah’s primary goal is to give with dignity. Your donated clothing will be filling someone’s closet. The clothing therefore needs to be a contemporary style in excellent condition that families in Israel will feel proud to wear.
Do you accept books, toys or household goods?
Unfortunately, at this time we are not able to accept these items
Where can I donate clothing on April 7?
You can drop off your clothing from 9:00am - 3:00pm at three convenient locations:
Ahavath Torah in Englewood
Teaneck Jewish Center/Heichal HaTorah
Beth Abraham in Bergenfield
I want to donate clothing but I won't be able to on April 7. Now what?
Yad Leah maintains a drop-off site in Teaneck, NJ and a warehouse in Passaic, NJ. Please email info@yadleah to find out how you can either drop off or ship your clothes.
Are there any special instructions that I need to know?
Place your excellent quality contemporary clothing in tied-up bags and bring them to Ahavath Torah, Teaneck Jewish Center or Beth Abraham on April 7th. The clothing should be neatly folded in bags but does not need to be organized in any way.
Is a monetary donation required?
No, but we do suggest a minimum donation of $36 to defray the cost of shipping and to ensure that your clothing reaches needy families as efficiently as possible.

Can I get a receipt for my donation for tax purposes?
Of course! When you arrive at the clothing drive, please go to the desk and fill out a receipt form. An official receipt will then be emailed to you shortly.
Is Yad Leah a non-profit organization?
Yes, American Friends of Yad Leah is a non-profit organization qualified under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The tax ID : 20-1057914
What happens to my clothing?
Clothing is sorted and shipped to Yad Leah branches throughout Israel. Each branch is set up in an organized, neat, clean and inviting way enabling families to obtain the clothing they need in a dignified fashion.
