Hello! My name is Ryan Short - I grew up in Newburyport, MA, and currently live right outside Boston in Somerville, MA. I graduated from Boston College in 2017 with degrees in Economics and Political Science and currently work in public relations for an agency called Matter Communications.
Distance running - and especially running marathons - Have become two of my deepest passions over the last few years. After running cross country in high school, I especially got back into distance running during COVID, and have since turned my hobby into a full-fledged marathon career. Since 2021, I have become a six-time marathoner, and am currently trying to run the six Abbott World Major Marathons after running Chicago in 2023 and London this past April. I have used my marathon ambitions as opportunities to either join charity teams or raise money for causes that are important to me from special needs support, to cancer and lung health care, to veteran assistance, and now am honored to be running the world-famous New York Marathon on behalf of the Flutie Foundation.
When I'm not running, I love playing co-rec softball with my friends across the greater Boston area, jamming out to Bruce Springsteen, exploring the city and being a diehard Boston sports fan (especially the Red Sox, Patriots and of course BC football).
