A few years ago, my family went through a time that reshaped how I understand strength, resilience, and mental health. My son Tyler was struggling, and as a parent, there’s nothing harder than watching your child fight a battle you can’t fix for them.
During that time, I started running - something that once felt impossible. I wanted to show him that doing hard things matters, even when it feels out of reach. That showing up, imperfectly, is where strength is built.
What began as a personal challenge became something bigger. Running became a symbol of perseverance - for both of us.
Now, I’m running the New York City Marathon with Still I Run, an organization dedicated to breaking the stigma around mental health through running and community.
This isn’t just about 26.2 miles. It’s about raising awareness, supporting mental health resources, and reminding people they are not alone.
