Help NYSX Keep Building Bridges!
I'm so super-proud of being a part of NYSX from its inception -- as founding Board Member when the company was just a twinkle in Artistic Director Ross Williams' eye.
The years since have helped us grow and refine our mission: New York Shakespeare Exchange bridges cultural divides, starts conversations, promotes education, and brings communities together through diverse, classically-based programming that re-imagines how Shakespearean theater and poetry can impact our modern world. Through our mainstage productions, ShakesBEER pub crawls for newbies and Shakespeare nerds alike, our global online short film extravaganza The Sonnet Project, and our Intersections and education outreach, NYSX uses classical art to build bridges in the modern world.
In a time when the country and world seems especially divided, we need more and better ways to forge connections. In the coming year we plan to take our Intersections experience to more towns outside of NYC, and our new Diversity Cohort playwriting initiative will bring together voices from a wide range of backgrounds to explore what classical verse and Shakespearian themes and ideas say to us today.
At NYSX, we keep creating new ways build -- and we do it thanks to you! Donate today, won't you?
