Welcome to our 2020 Virtual Auction
Austin Police Operation Blue Santa is playing it safe this year. This season, because of Covid-19 , we will not have a regular distribution day of toys and food, nor will we hold our traditional KOKE Breakfast and silent auction. Instead, we are holding an online virtual auction from November 16th through 30th. The money raised from this auction will go toward the purchase of food and gift cards for families in need living within the City of Austin.
The pandemic in our area has left MANY WITHOUT JOBS AND FOOD FOR THEIR FAMILIES. We, at Operation Blue Santa, are trying to raise around $500,000 to be able to GIVE A GIFT CARD FOR TOYS to each child from infant to fourteen years of age AND GIVE A FOOD GIFT CARD TO EACH FAMILY for a holiday family meal.
Blue Santa plans to serve around 20,000 children and around 12,000 families. We plan to give to each family the food gift cards the second week of December. YOUR SUPPORT IS VITAL to make the holidays special for all of the families and children we plan to serve.
This is where YOUR SUPPORT will come in to HELP US MEET OUR GOAL TO GIVE GIFT CARDS IN 2020 TO MAKE THEIR HOLIDAYS SPECIAL. Please register and start bidding beginning November 16th.
ABOUT US
Austin Police Operation Blue Santa is a 501(c)3 non-profit, community based corporation, governed by a board of directors and staffed by volunteers and employees of the Austin Police Department. Support is provided by the Austin Police Department, Austin Fire Department, Austin Energy, Austin Water Utilities, Austin Independent School District Police Department, area businesses, organizations, and the central Texas community. This charitable outreach began in 1972 when two patrol officers realized that 20 families on their patrol beat would not have gifts or food for their children at Christmas. For years we provided each family a full holiday meal, complete with turkey/chicken and all the trimmings, and wrapped Christmas gifts for each child up to the age of 14. Our service began in 1972 with 20 needy families. This year we will easily serve over 6,000 families. This is only possible because of the Austin citizens, businesses, civic groups, foundations and the community that supports us each year. Thank you, Austin!
