Our Mission

2020 Orange and Blue Gala

Before nine-year-old Mitch Chepokas died from cancer in 2003, his dad made a pinky swear promise to continue to help children with cancer and their families. Since then, over $16 million has been raised to support families across the U.S.

We invite you to join us in Charlotte, NC at the 5th Annual Orange & Blue Gala, celebrating and honoring the original pinky swear promise to help families with a child battling cancer.

This unforgettable evening will include fine dining and drinks, a silent and live auction, raffles and musical entertainment. Proceeds will further the Pinky Swear Foundation mission to support kids with cancer and their families when they need it most - right now.

  • Variety of food stations, wine and beer included
  • Complimentary signature cocktails
  • Attire: Cocktail orange and blue
  • Musical Entertainment: Blue Monday

NEW This Year!

New this year, we are offering the opportunity to purchase an entire table for you and your guest!

$1,500 will get you a table of 10 at our wonderful gala.

The Pinky Swear Story

In December of 2002, nine-year-old Mitch Chepokas, terminally ill with bone cancer, withdrew the entire $6,000 from his savings account and put it in envelopes for kids on the pediatric oncology floor at the hospital.

After giving all of his money away, Mitch’s dad made a pinky swear promise with him to always help children with cancer and their families after he was gone.

Mitch passed away on April 11, 2003, and shortly afterwards, Pinky Swear Foundation was established by his parents to honor the promise he made.
