As many of you know, I’ve had the opportunity in the past to serve at my HOME church as a youth group leader for several years and in other occasions work along with other organizations serving the youth of our community. After stepping down for a few years from serving as a youth leader I have felt the emptiness of not doing what my passion is, working/mentoring with our youth. A few months ago, I was given an opportunity to attend an event at the Miami Youth for Christ Ministry and learned about the Juvenile Justice team and their vision of working together with other organizations/churches to build relationships with our youth, their families and the communities surrounding them that have been marked by youth violence. After praying for it for weeks, God revealed that this was the opportunity for me to get involved again and share the hope and love only He can offer. MYFC believes that our at-risk youth should feel the empowerment of rising above their circumstances and know they can be who God created them to be! That is the reason I am so excited to be a part of this team. On January 27th, 2018 the MYFC Juvenile Justice team will be rappelling 10 stories down the Keyes Building in downtown Miami in efforts to raise funds to further our reach & resources in mentoring our kids as they come out of the juvenile justice system and are back on the streets. I’m asking for your help by either donating to the cause, spreading the word, rappelling with our team, and/or praying for us to meet our individual goals.
