Thank you for wanting to support my fundraiser for men, women and children struggling with homelessness in our Milwaukee community with the Milwaukee Rescue Mission! I am extremely grateful for your support and kindness. The Milwaukee Rescue Mission has been part of my life since 2018 when I created a book drive in the spring of my senior year of college at UW-Milwaukee. I lead my sorority in a campus-wide book drive that collected over 160 books for the men and women's programs as well as the school programs for children. This experience expanded my education on the issue of homelessness and helped me understand how I could support those experiencing it.

In November of 2018, my family and I spent Thanksgiving serving Thanksgiving lunch to the men of the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. It was one of the most transformative volunteer experiences I have had because I was able to stop and listen between serving meals to hear the stories of the men who were staying at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission working towards bettering their life. 

Milwaukee’s poverty and homelessness issues are vast and complex. But they are not insurmountable. There is help. There is hope. There are solutions. Since 1893, the Milwaukee Rescue Mission has tackled these issues head-on, serving the community with compassion and care. 

They meet our hurting neighbors where they are. Your donation will help the Milwaukee Rescue Mission offer practical assistance like food (more than 365,000 meals last year), clothing (approximately 45,000 items), and shelter (over 70,000 nights). And they offer transformative programs that equip them to get off the streets and turn their lives around for good. They offer short- and long-term assistance, education, pastoral care, help in overcoming substance abuse, job training and much more.
