Are you ready to do something unforgettable?
Over the Edge gives you the chance to rappel 11 stories down the iconic Hotel Blackhawk in downtown Davenport, Iowa — all while raising critical funds and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley.

No rappel experience required. All gear is provided. Participants must be 18 or older.
How It Works
Participants fundraise for the opportunity to rappel. Your fundraising minimum depends on how you register:
Individual: Raise $1,000
Duo: Raise $1,500 together
Team: Raise $2,500 for a team of three, plus $750 for each additional team member

Big Brothers Big Sisters supports you every step of the way. We provide fundraising tips and resources, personalized ideas based on your interests, and help setting up creative opportunities like guest bartending, themed fundraisers, and incentive-based giving. Most participants are surprised by how quickly their support comes together.

Over the Edge isn’t just about the thrill — it’s about showing up for kids in our community.
Many participants step far outside their comfort zone, often facing a fear of heights and choosing to do it anyway. It’s a powerful reminder of what the children in our program do every day — face challenges, find courage, and rise with the support of a mentor.
