I'm excited... and if I'm being honest, a little nervous... to be participating in the final Over the Edge Upstate in support of the Cancer Association of Spartanburg & Cherokee Counties.

On Friday, October 30, I'll be rappelling 192 feet down the Denny's Headquarters building for a cause that means so much to me.

I'm doing this in memory of my dad, Ray, who we lost to liver cancer in 2016, my Aunt Mary Jeanne, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2021, and the many other family members and friends whose lives have been touched by cancer.

I'm also rappelling for the incredible clients we serve every day at the Cancer Association. Since I joined the Cancer Association in 2005, I've seen firsthand how a cancer diagnosis affects every part of a person's life. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we provide nutritional supplements, fuel cards, FoodShare boxes, medical equipment, counseling, wigs, personal care items, and other vital services that help local cancer patients focus on what matters most: healing.

Every dollar you give stays right here in Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties, providing hope and practical support to neighbors facing cancer.
