Running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon is a dream I’ve carried with me for years. I started playing soccer when I was very young, and in high school I discovered running, something that quickly became a passion unlike anything I had experienced before. To now have the opportunity to combine both of those loves, and run the NYC Marathon through Soccer Without Borders, feels incredibly special and something I’m so grateful for.

     This cause is deeply personal to me because of an experience I had as a child. On a family trip to Colombia, my brother and I ended up playing with local kids in a small town. Despite language differences and having very little, everyone was so welcoming, and we spent the day just playing together. It was such a simple moment that stayed with me. What stood out most was that even without access to the same resources or equipment, their joy and love was just as strong. At the same time, it made me realize how fortunate we are to have things like cleats, fields, and the opportunity to just be kids through sports, things that many children around the world don’t have.

     That is exactly what Soccer Without Borders works to change. Their mission is not only to provide kids with the tools and equipment to play, but also to create a space where they can build confidence, develop discipline, and feel a true sense of belonging. Through soccer, education, and mentorship, they help open doors and create opportunities that extend far beyond the field.

     I am working toward a goal of raising $6,000, which will go directly toward supporting these programs and expanding access to sports, education, and community for youth who deserve those opportunities.
