Running the TCS New York City Marathon has been a lifelong dream of mine. Soccer has been a lifelong constant.
From early morning pickup games to long runs around LA, both have shaped how I move through the world. Community, discipline, and showing up even when it’s hard.
This will be my eighth marathon, and very possibly my last. It felt important to tie it to something bigger than just finishing another race.
That’s why I’m running with Soccer Without Borders.
They use the game to create opportunity for young people, especially those from immigrant and underserved communities, to find belonging, build confidence, and access a better path forward. It’s everything I’ve gotten from sport, made accessible to kids who need it most.
I’ve committed to raising $8,000, and I’m using everything I’ve got to get there, including the communities I’ve built through The LA Food Podcast and The LA Countdown.
I'll be hosting pizza runs, meetups, and a few other things along the way to bring people into it.
Here’s how you can support:
• Donate whatever you can. Every dollar moves this forward
• Share this page with someone who would want to be part of it
• Show up to a pizza run and help us turn this into something real
This is bigger than a race. It’s a chance to turn something personal into something that actually opens doors for others.
Appreciate you being part of it.
