I am walking for all of those we have lost.

Not just my family and friends, but also those I do not know. 

This disease destroys lives.

Cancer doesn't end when treatment is over. Even if you are one of the lucky ones and survive this you will forever be looking over your back, wondering when the disease will rear it's ugly head again.  

Most cancer charities are focused on research for a cure and new treatments with better outcomes. That is extremely important work, but it will mostly affect those in the future.
