Event Features

Fundraising Walk

You can save lives at PawsFest, just by signing up for the walk. Your registration fee will help us rescue animals, plus you can create a donation page and invite your friends and family to join you in saving lives - you can even collect donations directly on Facebook. At the event, the walk will be a short, fun walk through the Southern Village neighborhood.

Training and Behavior Topics

Bring your dog and cat training questions! Our professional, certified trainers will be available to talk with you about your pet. We will have special demonstrations about clicker training dogs and cats (yes, we can tell you how to clicker train your cat).

Pets and Families

Learn about safely introducing pets and children in your family. We will have information to help you guide your children and pets in safe interactions.

Pet Enrichment

In the home or in the shelter, it is important to keep pets' minds active through enrichment. Learn about games, scents, puzzles, and activities that you can do with your pet at home. You can even make a dog or cat toy to take home to your pet!

PawsFest FAQ

Where should I park?

Parking is available in the lot in front of Weaver Street Market, on side streets, and in parking decks beneath the 400 and 410 Market Street buildings.

Where are the restrooms?

Restrooms are located inside the Lumina Theater.

Can my dog come?

Yes, we invite you to bring your dog with you to PawsFest!

Leashes and Collars:
All dogs must be on leash during the entire event. We prefer fixed-length leashes rather than flexi-leads, and any flexi-lead leashes must be locked at a short length.

No prong, choke, or shock collars.

Interested to find out why we don't recommend flexi-leads or adversive collars? Stop by the Ask a Trainer booth and we'll talk!

Will my dog enjoy PawsFest?
Some dogs love the festival environment with lots of people and other dogs, and some may find it too stressful. If your dog gets overwhelmed around other dogs and crowds of people, they may do better to stay home. Bring pictures of them on your phone so you can still show off how cute they are!
