Hi thank you for considering donating to team dog and helping the Lewis and Clark humane society with your donation.

The invisible girl who became visible

This story is about a dog that was at LCHS. She was at a place she didn't know. She was scared but hopeful she would leave some day. The staff would feed her, give her a warm bed, give her fetch time in the play yards, and give her medical care. She had a few people take her home for a few nights but she didn't like the other animals. Around that time a stranger started coming in 2-3 times a week to play with her for an hour or so at a time. Then that stranger started coming in 5 days a week and spending less time playing with her but was helping like the staff was. She started to get worried that she was going to be there longer than she thought but the stranger and staff taking time to play fetch with her helped a lot. She thought of a way to be seen by more people. If she makes noise maybe they would see her. Not many people tried to take her home when she tried that but thought one day someone will see what she's trying to do. One day another stranger started coming in and giving her treats through the fence. Then playing fetch from outside the fence. Then the man was coming into her play yard and playing with her and giving her treats. Then one day all of the staff and the first stranger were around her outside giving her lots of treats and love and she didn't know what was happening but was happy for the treats and attention. Then the second stranger appeared. She then realized that she was going home. She went home with the stranger and is having the time of her life right now.

This story was about a dog named Margo who was at LCHS for 227 days. The first stranger was me when I volunteered at the shelter. If it wasn't for her I don't know if I would be at the shelter still.  Dogs like her and the ones that aren't like her are the reason these fundraisers are important. So we can give extra care to the animals that need it.

Please consider donating to the shelter to help raise $15,000 for the care these animals need.
