Why a Walk-a-thon?

The Walk-a-thon is PCA’s biggest fall fundraiser, generating funds necessary to help PCA continue providing your student with the top-quality academics, social events, and facilities you appreciate.  The goal of the Walk-a-thon is to get students involved in making an early investment in their school.  Tuition only covers the operating expenses of the school, so enlisting students’ help not only enables us to have the extras we all want for our children, but develops the students’ work ethic as well. The Walk-a-thon allows students to develop school spirit and work as a team to see a reward for that work.

Parkview positively impacts students, families, and staff on a daily basis. We have the opportunity for our students to socialize and build relationships while being instructed from a Biblical worldview.

The Walk-a-thon is a way to give back and help us improve what we do on a daily basis. Because of the generosity of our previous Walk-a-thon donors, we:

  • added extra space at our Upper Campus by finishing off the room that is now being used as a  cafeteria/auditorium/chapel area,
  • purchased a brand new color copier for our Lower Campus,
  • purchased a mini-bus to assist in transporting our athletes to and from athletic events,
  • gifted our teachers with mini-grants, which they used to purchase items for their classrooms,
  • and several other miscellaneous tasks were able to be completed -- simply because of our donors!

We are THRILLED to announce that this year's funds will be used in three areas.

  •  60% of funds raised will go toward playground improvements at our Lower Campus. We have had a tremendous opportunity of providing a safe and fun playground atmosphere for several years now. However, we also have had the desire and recent need to implement some upgrades to our playground. Donations received will go toward new equipment/upgrading the equipment we have, in addition to replacing the current playground flooring.

  • 35% of funds brought in will be used for mini-grants for our teachers at Parkview. We are so excited to bring back this category to bless our incredible teachers!

These grants will be organized and issued by the Development Committee. The teachers will apply for an item, or items, that will help make their calling of teaching our children both more manageable and better! This can range from technology to a large set of books or anything in between. The teachers often purchase items out of pocket to aid in the classroom, and a grant could relieve them of that. These items will directly impact the classroom this year and beyond. All the items will be approved by the administration and will be specifically Christ-centered education focused! This will be an incredible way for us to love on those who love on our children every day!

  • 5% of funds raised will go toward the purchase of brand new musical equipment for our Fine Arts Department! We are so excited to be able to provide new equipment for our music classes at our Upper Campus. The musical equipment will benefit students in Piano Lab, Junior/Senior High Worship Team, and choir.

Additionally, at the bottom line, we rely on funds from our generous donors to operate our schools and be able to plan for the future

Here are just a few ways that we rely on your donations:

  • Most of our grades are at or near capacity. In order to create new space or hire additional staff, we need to raise additional funds beyond what tuition covers.
  • We have plans to add athletic fields and outdoor facilities to offer a wider variety of athletics to our students as our school continues to grow.

STUDENTS WILL BE WALKING ON OCTOBER 27TH!

We will be accepting donations through October 30th. Thank you so much for your interest in donating!

Parent Testimonials

"As grandparents, we are so thankful for the caring environment Parkview provides for our grandchildren."

Grandparents of Four Students

"My daughter started at Parkview in the fall of 2020.  She was in 4th grade at the time and had already been diagnosed with Dyslexia and had an extensive IEP for her reading disabilities within the public schools.  With COVID pushing her school to e-learning, and us already struggling to get the proper accommodations at her current school, we had to make a choice.  We had been warned that private schools were not the route to go for a child with her reading issues.  Nothing could have been further from the truth at Parkview.  Parkview has been an answer to all of our prayers.  Not only is she getting her needs meet, but they have also gone above and beyond in assisting her learning. She has soared at Parkview academically and socially.  She now has the confidence she never had before.  We thank God every day for pointing us to Parkview."

"We first came to Parkview when our
oldest was starting Kindergarten. We
wanted a school that would filter all
subjects through the Word of God,
would be a place of high quality
education and would disciple her as
she grew. We've been here 12 years
now and couldn't imagine being
anywhere else with all 4 of our kids.
We have a Junior, an 8th grader, a
6th grader and a 4th grader. The
teachers and staff truly want what's
best for our kids, I'm so thankful for
PCA!"

"We started with Parkview when our daughter Isabel was in kindergarten. We had no idea at that time that God was going to bless us with 11 more years. Isabel is now a Junior. The love that the teachers share with our students is priceless. This is one reason why we kept coming back. It kept feeling more and more like a family with every year that passed. Not only the staff, but the families of the kids were
starting to feel like family too. Parkview helps bring the unity of all of us under the same belief- the truth and the love of Jesus Christ. I have seen this consistency every year as I walk into the schools and feel my spirit at peace. I can honestly say that Parkview has been a huge part of the start of our spiritual journey as a family-one being all three of us have now been baptized in the past 4 years. What a blessing it has been that God has given us this amazing gift of Parkview, and Lord Willing, Isabel will be able to complete her schooling all the way through 12th grade."
