Why a Walkathon?

The Walk-a-thon is PCA’s biggest spring fundraiser, generating funds necessary to help PCA continue providing your student with the top quality academics, social events and facilities you appreciate.  The goal of the Walk-a-thon is to get students involved in making an early investment in their school.  Tuition only covers the operating expenses of the school, so enlisting students’ help not only enables us to have the extras we all want for our children, but develops the students’ work ethic as well. The Walk-a-thon gives students the opportunity to develop school spirit and work as a team to see a reward for that work.

We have had the tremendous blessing this year of being together with our students every day for face-to-face learning. For that we regularly send thanks to God for his blessings. Parkview positively impacts students, families, and staff on a daily basis. We have the opportunity for our students to socialize and build relationships while being instructed from a Biblical worldview.

The Walk-a-thon is a way to give back and help us improve what we do on a daily basis. We are THRILLED to announce that this year's funds will be used in two areas.

The first is Chromebooks. So much of learning, even face-to-face learning, involves technology. We would like to purchase 100 Chromebooks for use at both campuses. Some of the benefits of this include:

  • Enhancing our curriculum and learning through programs used on the Chromebooks.
  • The demand currently outweighs the supply. Providing access to Chromebooks levels the playing field for every student.
  • Except for a very small class and during an open period, going to the computer lab for tech use is not practical.

These new Chromebooks will allow for collaboration across class curricula as well as teach students at an early age about technology.  Technology plays a positive role in children's development and learning. Through the use of technology, teachers have access to more innovative and improved teaching methods that allow them to promote learning and create an active learning environment for children.

The second area of fundraising is to increase our learning space by adding classrooms at the upper campus

We currently have approximately 4,000 square feet of storage space that we could convert into learning space. It would be able to hold an additional 40-50 students. This would be extremely beneficial, as many of our classes are near or at capacity.

The funds would be used to put a floor in, in addition to several other miscellaneous tasks (walls, paint, heating/cooling, etc.) to get the space ready to safely house students for learning.

Additionally, at the bottom line, we rely on funds from our generous donors to operate our schools and be able to plan for the future

Here are just a few ways that we rely on your donations:

  • Over half of our grades are at or near capacity. In order to create new space or hire additional staff, we need to raise additional funds beyond what tuition covers.
  • We have plans to add sports fields and outdoor facilities to offer a wider variety of sports to our students as our school continues to grow.

STUDENTS WILL BE WALKING ON MARCH 5TH!

We will be accepting donations through March 12th. Thank you so much for your interest in donating!

Parent Testimonials

"This year we made the decision to enroll our 4th grade daughter into Parkview. We couldn’t be more happy with our choice.  My daughter struggles tremendously with reading.  She is dyslexic.  It’s a very common misconception that private schools don’t work well with children with learning disabilities, and we were fearful.  Those fears were met with love and God’s grace.  Parkview has gone above and beyond in their accommodations and adjustments to help her flourish and succeed.  She used to hate going to school and her confidence was low, now she loves school and truly believes she can succeed."

"One thing I love is the heart behind what takes place each day in the classroom. We’ve seen firsthand in the faculty a genuine love for Jesus and the students that really makes Parkview a special place to learn."

"Best decision we ever made was putting our daughter in Parkview. It’s amazing to see her come out of her shell and become a compassionate, God loving, young woman."
