Why a Walkathon?

The Walk-a-thon is PCA’s biggest spring fundraiser, generating funds necessary to help PCA continue providing your student(s) with the top quality academics, social events and facilities you appreciate.  The goal of the Walk-a-thon is to get students involved in making an early investment in their school.  Tuition only covers the operating expenses of the school, so enlisting students’ help not only enables us to have the extras we all want for our children, but develops the students’ work ethic as well. The Walk-a-thon gives students the opportunity to develop school spirit and work as a team to see a reward for that work.

We have had the tremendous blessing this year of being together with our students every day for face-to-face learning. For that we regularly send thanks to God for His blessings. Parkview positively impacts students, families, and staff on a daily basis. We have the opportunity for our students to socialize and build relationships while being instructed from a Biblical worldview.

The Walk-a-thon is a way to give back and help us improve what we do on a daily basis.

This year, we are THRILLED to announce that the funds from the Walkathon will be allocated in four different areas.

  •  35% of funds raised will go toward finishing off the 4,000 square feet of space at the Upper Campus. We have a tremendous opportunity to add usable learning space at our Upper Campus by turning what is now the pool room into a brand new auditorium, cafeteria, and kitchen. Your students and students for years to come will have a brand new space for chapel, performing arts events, and a beautiful cafeteria for lunchtime. These funds will help us to finally be able to see this dream become a reality!

  • 30% of funds brought in will be used for mini-grants for our incredible teachers at Parkview. We are so excited to provide a new way to uplift the heart of our school!

These grants will be organized and issued by the Development Committee. The teachers will apply for an item, or items, that will help make their calling of teaching our children both more manageable and better! This can range from technology to a large set of books or anything in between. The teachers often purchase items out of pocket to aid in the classroom, and a grant could relieve them of that. These items will be of direct impact for the classroom this year and beyond. All the items will be approved by the administration and will be specifically Christ- centered education focused! This will be an incredible way for us love on those who love on our children every day!

  • 30% of funds raised will go toward the purchase of a brand new Parkview vehicle/bus! We have seen an incredible need this year for additional transportation for our students. As we continue to grow, this need will also grow. This additional mode of transportation will allow us to transport more students to and from sporting events, field trips, etc., whereas right now, we are unable to accommodate travel to multiple events with our 15-passenger van. We are so excited to think about the possibility of being able to transport more than one team to an away game or different classrooms to a field trip!

  • 5% of the funds will go toward a color printer for the Lower Campus. For the past several years, the Lower Campus has only had access to a black and white printer. The only color printer Parkview has is at the Upper Campus. The teachers at the Lower Campus would benefit greatly from having a color printer, whether it be to print out flyers, programs, manipulatives, you name it! This has been a request on the teachers' list for quite some time, and we would love to be able to provide that for them!

At the bottom line, we rely on funds from our generous donors to operate our schools and be able to plan for the future

Here are just a few ways that we rely on your donations:

  • Over half of our grades are at or near capacity. In order to create new space or hire additional staff, we need to raise additional funds beyond what tuition covers.
  • We have plans to add sports fields and outdoor facilities to offer a wider variety of sports to our students as our school continues to grow.

STUDENTS WILL BE WALKING ON MARCH 4TH!

We will be accepting donations through March 11th. Thank you so much for your interest in donating!

Parent Testimonials

"This year we made the decision to enroll our 4th grade daughter into Parkview. We couldn’t be more happy with our choice.  My daughter struggles tremendously with reading.  She is dyslexic.  It’s a very common misconception that private schools don’t work well with children with learning disabilities, and we were fearful.  Those fears were met with love and God’s grace.  Parkview has gone above and beyond in their accommodations and adjustments to help her flourish and succeed.  She used to hate going to school and her confidence was low, now she loves school and truly believes she can succeed."

"One thing I love is the heart behind what takes place each day in the classroom. We’ve seen firsthand in the faculty a genuine love for Jesus and the students that really makes Parkview a special place to learn."

"Best decision we ever made was putting our daughter in Parkview. It’s amazing to see her come out of her shell and become a compassionate, God loving, young woman."
