I started my journey with HSHA back in 2016 where I spent a couple years doing many things around the shelter. During that time I met Quintina (my picture)who stole my heart. She was experiencing extreme Kennel stress and needed out of the shelter asap. She finally met an amazing family who decided to adopt her and I am glad she did as her allergies and stress were so bad despite all the dedication from the staff and volunteers The day she was going to leave I spent 4 hours with her going on a walk, cuddling, and playing together. Seeing pictures of her after time in her forever home were amazing- she put on weight and her allergies cleared. I'm 2019 I decided to take a break from the shelter. This year my heart was calling me back to the shelter and I joined again. I am so glad to be part of an amazing team.
