I'm walking for a cure
Dear Friends,
For the first time in six years, I won’t be joining hundreds of my fellow community members at the San Francisco Bay Walk on 8/15 in support of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF). But I will be there in spirit with your help to find a cure for this rare lung disease. I so appreciate your past support, which has helped me raise thousands through our combined efforts for more research funding and the quest for a cure.
This year has been one of changes and challenges. My fibrosis took a dramatic increase in March as my ability to get oxygen into my bloodstream dropped from 50% to 27% of normal. So now I am on pure oxygen 24/7. My greatest news is my Pulmonologist has connected me with the Stanford Lung Transplant Program. I will have a 3-day physical evaluation in early August to be placed on their waiting list. We are both elated.
All funds raised by the PFF Walk support the Foundation’s efforts to accelerate research, advance improved care for those living with the disease, and provide unequaled support and education resources for patients, caregivers, family members, healthcare providers, and patients like me.
