Why I Walk...
Pulmonary fibrosis has touched my family in ways I never could have imagined.
I walk in memory of my mom, Diane, and my Aunt Barb. Two of the most increbile women, whose lives were taken by pulmonary fibrosis. They are the reason our team is the Heavenly Sister Crew. Their love, strength, and memory continue to walk beside us every step we take.
But this walk isn’t only about remembering those we’ve lost. It’s about fighting for those who are still here. It’s about my family members who continue to face this disease in their day to day life.
This year, every step feels a little more personal.
I walk for my mom.
I walk for my aunt.
I walk for my family.
And I walk with hope that someday another family won’t have to experience the loss and uncertainty that pulmonary fibrosis has brought to ours.
Through Heavenly Sister Crew, we are carrying their legacy forward while raising awareness and funds for research, better treatments, and ultimately a cure.
Remembering those we love. Fighting for those still here. Hoping for those who come after us.
