About the Tournament

Get ready for Northern Colorado's premier Halloween-themed charity pickleball tournament!

Nightmare at The Picklr brings together players of all skill levels for a weekend of exciting team competition, Halloween fun, and community impact—all while supporting Meals on Wheels of Fort Collins & Loveland.

Inspired by the exciting Minor League Pickleball (MiLP) format, this is a DUPR-regulated (not DUPR-reported) tournament featuring team play, medals, costumes, food trucks, raffles, local vendors, and plenty of Halloween spirit.

Best of all, 100% of every player's registration donation goes directly to Meals on Wheels, helping provide nutritious meals, wellness checks, and companionship to older adults throughout Northern Colorado.

About Meals On Wheels

Meals on Wheels Fort Collins & Meals on Wheels Loveland and Berthoud have been helping older adults and individuals with disabilities remain healthy, independent, and connected to their community.

Every weekday, our dedicated staff and volunteers deliver more than just a nutritious meal. They provide a friendly face, a wellness check, and meaningful human connection for neighbors who may otherwise be isolated. For many of the people we serve, that knock at the door is the only personal interaction they receive all day.

Our mission is simple: to nourish lives and strengthen our community by delivering meals, fostering independence, and reducing isolation.

Tournament Format

Teams:

Teams consist of two Men and two Women (ages 8-100+) with up to two optional substitutes meeting DUPR eligibility at the time of registration.

Team matches include Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles #1, and Mixed Doubles #2. Games use regular scoring to 11, win by 1.

Each division is limited to eight teams using four dedicated courts during a five-hour competition block. Warm ups will be scheduled on all courts 30 minutes prior to each event.

Divisions:

To create the best possible experience for everyone, teams are grouped by combined DUPR rating. This helps ensure you're competing against teams with similar skill levels, resulting in more balanced and enjoyable matches.

Division Guidelines:

  • Division 12 – Ideal for beginner and recreational players who are newer to tournament play.
  • Division 14 – Best suited for lower intermediate to intermediate players.
  • Division 16 – Designed for intermediate to upper intermediate players.
  • Division 18 – Intended for advanced and highly competitive players.

Registration

You can register yourself, add your entire team at the same time, or join a team.

Creating a Team?

If you're creating a team, you can add all of your players during your registration and get everyone signed up at once.

Don't have everyone's information yet? No problem! Your teammates can also register individually later.

If players are registering separately, make sure everyone uses the exact same Team Name and selects the correct tournament date, time, division, and location so we can match everyone to the correct team.

Joining an Existing Team?

Register individually and enter your team's exact Team Name during registration.

Before registering, confirm:

  • Team Name
  • Tournament date and time
  • Division
  • Location

This will ensure you're added to the correct team and tournament session.

Need a Team?

No problem! Register individually and let us know that you need to be matched with a team by leaving the Team Name blank. If you have someone you would like to partner with, add their name in the Team Name space.

We'll do our best to connect individual players with others based on tournament date and time, location, division, DUPR rating, and availability.

While we can't guarantee placement, we'll work to create as many complete teams as possible before the tournament. If we're unable to place you on a team, we'll contact you prior to the event to discuss your options.

Fundraising Challenge

Each team is encouraged to participate in the Meals on Wheels Team Fundraising Challenge. Similar to a walk-a-thon, teams can set a fundraising goal and invite friends, family, coworkers, and local businesses to support their efforts. Every dollar raised helps Meals on Wheels provide nutritious meals, wellness checks, and meaningful connection to neighbors in need.

There is no fundraising minimum, but special prizes and recognition will be awarded to our top fundraising teams and individuals.
