The Birdathon
I’m thrilled to be participating in Pilchuck Audubon Society's Birdathon, a fundraiser supporting bird conservation in Snohomish County and Camano Island, WA. I’m passionate about this cause and need your help! Every donation—big or small—helps me reach my fundraising goal and directly impacts this important cause.
Here's how you can help:
- Donate: Contribute whatever you can. No amount is too small!
- Spread the Word: Share my fundraising page with your friends, family, and social networks. Let’s spread awareness so we can raise more!
Thank you for standing by me in this effort. Your support means the world to me!
More about Counting Crows
Our team has been birding together for many years. Our goal this year is to make a very big Big Day. As it happens, the only day in May that works for all of us is May 31st. We will meet early to start our birding, and we'll be birding at sites in King and Snohomish Counties. Some team members may also track their species counts on other days, contributing to the team's monthly count.
The team's name was inspired by an Amercan rock band. An old counting rhyme focused on one member of the crow family, the magpie. One version of the rhyme begins, " One for sorrow, Two for joy." A band member once quoted a version that started, "a murder of one, for sorrow." Finding any magpies here would be unusual, but we hope to find crows, ravens, and jays, at the least.
