The 2022 Walk Cover Model – Krystal

In February 2019, I suffered from a broken heart after losing my beloved pit bull, Carley, to mast cell cancer at seven years old. Ten days later, I stumbled upon a picture on Facebook of a mom and newborns on social media. I was very drawn to the white pup with the black spot, as were other people, but I knew I wasn't ready to adopt. I followed their journey for ten weeks until they made their way north to a Rhode Island rescue. Still unsure, I hesitantly visited with the litter upon arrival and knew immediately that baby Krystal was destined to be mine. I was stunned by her blue eyes! Little did I know that she would not only help heal my heart after my dog's passing, but she would be there through my sister's passing as well. She got me through covid lockdown and my own cancer diagnosis this past year. Saying she was meant to be mine is an understatement. She provides comfort to me daily, even coming to work with me. She has become my comfort dog, best friend, and sidekick through the good times and the bad.
