The Waldron Family is proud to support Girl Power 2 Cure for Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend. We run in honor of our friend Evie who was born with a neurological disorder called Rett Syndrome. This horrible disease has robbed her and half a million girls like her of a typical life. These girls develop typically until about 18 months old and then seemingly regress skill until they are subject to severe impairments, affecting nearly every aspect of the child’s life: their ability to speak, walk, eat, and even breathe easily. We run to create awareness and we run to raise money to support the families so deeply affected by a life that can often be difficult and unpredictable. The money raised also goes to funding first of it's kind gene therapies and clinical trials. There are hundreds of brave girls who are currently in clinical trials pushing scientists to find the cure. The money you donate goes towards real girls and real cures. The girls we know and love are worth it. Help give them a chance to walk, talk, and simply hug the people that they love.
