Show your love for Team MoJo!

Come join us for The Puget Sound Buddy Walk! We will be walking with our peers and sharing awareness for Down syndrome with the community while having fun together at the Woodland Park Zoo. You can be a walker for our cause or make a donation to our fight for inclusion. Thank you for your support!

Team MoJo and why we walk:

WE WALK FOR MAXIMO AND JOSEF!

Our boy Maximo and his cousin Josef are shining examples of loving and caring inidviduals who can thrive in an inclusive environment. They want to do all the things their friends and family can do like going to school or playing with their friends of all abilities and we are not about to limit their dreams. Sure, it may be harder for them to do some things but "impossible" is not part of our vocabulary. We adapt, we conquer, we thrive! There are many individuals in our world that can struggle with various limitations, or the perception therof, and we have made it our personal mission to advocate for a community of inclusion at every level. The Down Syndrome Community of Puget Sound’s mission is to provide impactful programs and resources for individuals with Down syndrome and their families while evolving perceptions in the broader community. We believe every individual deserves to be loved as they are. We need our peers, our families and the community at large to see these differences as strengths, not a liability, and to work together to involve everyone at large. Doing so builds a culture of compassion amongst us all.

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT US:

  • COME WALK WITH US! The Buddy Walkwill be on Sunday, October 6th, 2019 at The Woodland Park Zoo. Registered walkers will have free admission to the zoo starting at 9:30am. Non registered guests pay admission at the gate. The Buddy Walk Festivities start at 1 and go till 4. Parking is paid in the zoo lots or there is free street parking on a first come-first served basis. Come be part of our team!
  • MAKE A DONATION! Any donation amount is welcome and it would mean the world to us. Funds raised at the Puget Sound Buddy Walk® allow them to continue to offer their many programs, events, and initiatives, and to add more to meet the needs of their members.
  • REACH OUT! Take some time to get to know someone who is differently abled. Have an open conversation and learn a little about each other and you'll find you probably have lots of dreams and goals in common. Build empathy and make new friends.

Please help us reach our fundraising goal by contributing to this organization and thank you for supporting inclusion for all!
