Raising money for PPB Research

Amy and Thatcher are raising money to help fund PPB Research and to cure more children diagnosed with this rare childhood lung cancer! We are grateful for your support!

In 2014 Amy was diagnosed with Type 3 Pleuropulmonary Blastoma (PPB). Thanks to research done by the PPB Registry at the Children's Hospital of Minnesota the genetic cause of most cases of PPB has been identified as a genetic mutation called Dicer1. When testing revealed that Amy had the mutation her brothers were tested as well. The older of the two brothers, Thatcher, did not have the gene, but Hunter, did. A screening CT scan revealed Hunter had Type 1 PPB, the earliest stage. Because of the research of the PPB Registry, Hunter's cancer was caught early enough to be treated with surgery alone, rather than the grueling chemo, radiation and multiple surgeries Amy had. We are thankful, however, that both children are currently done with treatment and show no evidence of disease. Please help us help the PPB Registry's research that will lead to cures for more children diagnosed with cancer!
