2019 PwC Bowl-A-Thon

NYC 2 - Thursday, November 14th raising money for PS 277

November 14, 2019 6:00pm - 8:00pm

We are Raising Money for P.S. 277

Every $50 we raise will enable one student at PS 277 to receive JA programming, and every $1000 we raise will enable one class at PS 277 to receive JA programming. From personal finance to entrepreneurship, JA programs give kids the chance to develop the skills they need to become confident, savvy leaders in the real world. Funds raised in excess of school needs will support JA’s programming in neighboring low and moderate income schools in NYC and Long Island.

P.S. 277 is an elementary school located in Brooklyn. What's unique about PS 277 is their marine biology program. Children walk to a saltwater creek and observe sea plants and animal life.

Children receive a solid education and the school earns above-average test scores. Classroom instruction has an ordered, timeless quality. At the same time, the principal leads school-wide initiatives each year to improve. Past initiatives include problem-solving in math or to train teachers to ask meatier questions that make kids think hard.

Team-teaching classes mix children with disabilities into general education classes. There is also a class for children with special needs only.
