Dear Supporters,

First, a big thank you to those who have donated in the past.  Setting up my new classroom has been a great adventure, and I was able to equip it very well for the task of teaching.  Many items, such as the electric stapler, simply decrease the time students spend on mundane tasks and increase time spent in more active engagement with learning.  I would love to tour anyone, especially graduates who remember my old room, to see what I have been able to do in the new space.

This year, my main project is to set up the new Cortez Trial room!  As you will remember, if you were my student, the old classroom doubled as the Trial room.  Limitations of space and movement made it nearly a fire hazard when the court was packed.  Every year I had to turn people away who wished to observe.

This year, I have been given access to the old boardroom upstairs.  It is a great space for this project as it has the old-school class and the size needed.  The only problem is that the only furniture we have so far is 3 chairs that I have contributed. I am in the process of looking at furniture clearinghouse options and various used-to-free furniture options. I am hopeful that I will find many of the items needed through these resources, but having a small war chest available to spend on key items would make a huge difference.
