WHY I RIDE
As a longtime board member, volunteer, and cycling cheerleader, I’ve seen firsthand how Phoenix Bikes changes lives. It’s not just about fixing bikes. It’s about giving youth a place to belong, build confidence, learn skills, and find direction.
You’ll often find me at the Phoenix Bikes tent at local cyclocross races, cowbell in hand, cheering our youth as they fly by. I’m also the one digging through the car for extra snacks, hunting down the first aid tent, offering pep talks and encouragement, and yes, giving all the hugs.
Phoenix Bikes is family. It’s community. It's a third space for youth. And it’s doing the hard work of keeping programs free and accessible for youth who need it most.
We’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal this year, and we know the road is steep. Times are tough. But every dollar you give goes directly to keeping this work rolling...training youth, expanding staff support, and offering a healthy, hands-on outlet for growth.
