I’m Raising + Riding for Phoenix Bikes and I’d love your support!
Well, I'm back, and again am going to ride my 60+ year old three speed bike 100 miles for the Phoenix Bikes Raise + Ride, to support the nonprofit's work that helps youth thrive through bikes, hands-on learning, and community.
Phoenix Bikes is more than just a shop. It’s a third space where teens:
* Earn a bike and give a bike
* Learn bike mechanics, teamwork, and leadership
* Get outside and discover their power and purpose
They’re also one of the few early, voluntary workforce readiness programs, helping teens build skills and confidence before they fall behind.
This is an organization that I support year round with monthly donations and hundreds of volunteer hours (both in the shop and on the Board and commitees. So I am asking for your donations to help:
✅ Fund staff and youth instructors
✅ Keep programs free and accessible
✅ Ensure no young person is left on the sidelines
This is why I’m riding. Every dollar supports real opportunities for youth to learn, grow, and ride toward a brighter future.
But this year, I'm also leading the Raise + Ride organizing committee, and heading a team in a heated competition. There are four team trying to raise $20,000 each, and my team has never done that. So I'm search for osting this early in search of fellow bike enthusiasts and community organizer types who would like to join us, especially if your like to organize your own team.
