I’m Raising + Riding for Phoenix Bikes  and I’d love your support!

And I'll be doing it again (as in 2022) on my vintage 3-speed bike, as seen in this photo with me and Crusty Cranks team leader, Henry Dunbar.

On August 2, we'll be riding to support Phoenix Bikes, a nonprofit that helps youth thrive through bikes, hands-on learning, and community.

Phoenix Bikes is more than just a shop. It’s a third space where teens:
Earn a bike and give a bike
 Learn bike mechanics, teamwork, and leadership
Get outside and discover their power and purpose

They’re also one of the few early, voluntary workforce readiness programs, helping teens build skills and confidence before they fall behind.

But here’s the challenge:
⚠️ Youth demand is outpacing staff capacity
⚠️ They are currently serving 40 youth per 1 staff in the shop
⚠️ Without more funding, they may have to turn kids away

Your donation helps:
✅ Fund staff and youth instructors
✅ Keep programs free and accessible
✅ Ensure no young person is left on the sidelines

This is why I’m riding. Every dollar supports real opportunities for youth to learn, grow, and ride toward a brighter future.
