I’m Raising + Riding for Phoenix Bikes  and I’d love your support!

As the Director of Youth Programs at Phoenix Bikes, I have the incredible privilege of witnessing firsthand how our young people transform every single day. I see them step away from screens, pick up tools, find solutions, and push their limits. In fact, this August 2nd, I'll be riding alongside a dedicated group of our youth as they attempt their first ever 100-mile road ride! We'll set out as a team, working together and cheering each other to the finish line, embodying everything we teach at Phoenix Bikes.

I'd be so grateful for your support to help us continue this vital work and expand our reach.

Phoenix Bikes is so much more than a bike shop; it's a dynamic "third space" where teens truly thrive. Here, they:

• Earn a bike and give a bike back to the community, understanding the power of contribution.

• Master bike mechanics, develop teamwork, and hone leadership skills – hands-on lessons that translate directly into life success.

• Get outside and connect with the joy of movement, discovering their own power and purpose away from digital distractions.

We are proud to be one of the few early, voluntary workforce readiness programs. We're equipping teens with essential skills and self-assurance, building their foundation long before they might face obstacles. This also includes our growing internship programs, providing critical real-world experience, and helping our youth achieve incredible personal goals like conquering a century ride.

However, we're facing a critical challenge: the demand from youth is outpacing our current staff capacity. With 40 young people for every single staff member in the shop, there's a real risk we might have to turn away deserving kids eager to learn and grow, and limit our ability to offer more internship opportunities or support monumental achievements like the 100-mile ride.
