I have been volunteering with Phoenix Bikes here in Arlington, VA, since 2012!
I continue to raise money, and to volunteer teaching Earn a Bike classes, and to serve on the board at Phoenix because I see up close how youth develop skills and confidence and relationships in the shop that change their lives.
I have really enjoyed working with our new ED, Tom Shannon, this past year and I am excited to support his creative ideas to serve more youth through our Earn a Bike program and to build out our youth internship program and our adult volunteer program. I graduated from our Advanced Mechanics Program this past February, and I had fun using my new skills to better teach youth this spring.
