I have been volunteering with Phoenix Bikes here in Arlington, VA since 2012:)
I continue to raise money, volunteer in the shop, and to serve on the board at Phoenix because I see up close how our programs train youth to problem solve and pay attention to detail as they fix up bikes, all while giving them the opportunity to develop mentoring relationships with staff and other youth and to have fun, whether racing cyclocross, building the bike of their dreams with the skills they've learned or exploring the DC area with friends on a bike.
