Meet Waylon, a 2026 RAL alum!
Waylon has had quite the eventful year, but he continues to hop his way through every obstacle life throws at him.
In February, Waylon was found after being struck by a car. He had a severely crushed leg and torn-up ears and ultimately had to have one of his hind legs amputated. Despite everything he’s been through, Waylon hasn’t let it slow him down.
I began fostering Waylon in April, and I knew almost immediately that I was going to be a foster fail. Despite losing a leg, Waylon loves running, hiking, and swimming, and he can even do a little spin when he gets excited. He is goofy, affectionate, and full of so much love. Waylon has truly taught me to persevere through hard times and not take life too seriously.
Waylon’s story is just one example of the incredible animals that come through RAL’s doors. RAL does so much for our community, and volunteering and fostering with them has been such a rewarding and fulfilling experience. As a volunteer, I’ve seen firsthand just how much they care about every single animal in their care.
This fundraiser helps RAL continue giving animals like Waylon the medical care, love, and second chances they deserve. Thank you for helping support the animals who need it most!

The Top 12 fundraising pets will each receive a professional photo session with Brittany Rose Petography and be featured with a full-page monthly spread in the 2027 Richmond Animal League Calendar. Plus, every pet that raises $250 will be featured on a date in the calendar!
