Nikki came to us from Richmond Animal League in 2022 as a very small kitten. She was adopted to be a "chew toy" for our first RAL kitten, Lucy, whom we had adopted earlier that year.

Nikki plays hard, sleeps hard, and somehow manages to play outfield in games of catch with cat toys on the stairs. She remains semi-feral and has made it clear that she does not wish to be picked up, brushed, or have her claws trimmed.

Lucy is just as wild and equally uninterested in being held. We are sad about this, but do believe they spent too long in cages as kittens. The two intensely dislike each other (mostly Lucy disliking), but they do occasionally chase each other around the house for exercise.

This may not have been the happy ending we imagined when we adopted them, but they are both part of our family, but we will stick with them throughout their, or our, lifetimes.
